I’ve been creating websites in some form since 1996. Over the last five years, I’ve designed, developed, and maintained the official company websites for three software products, which included creating all graphics and writing all marketing content for each. During that time, I continued to manage TylerNet’s first help website, which I created back in 2008.
In 2015, Smartwerks was struggling with a website redesign. To offer a different perspective, I spent a weekend creating a mockup of a new website. My design had a fresh look, new marketing copy, and a focus on generating sales leads. The VP of Marketing immediately asked me to work on this project, and two months later the Smartwerks site was live.
Soon after the launch of the new Smartwerks website, I was assigned the responsibility of redesigning the TylerNet company website. To complete the project in a short time frame, I used some of the basic design ideas from the Smartwerks website, while choosing different typography, layouts, and images to create a unique and distinctive presence for the new site.
In 2008, I had the idea of creating a website where clients could easily find all of our help resources. This included user guides, video tutorials, FAQs, job aids, and a way to register for online training. Using WordPress, my design skills, and some HTML/CSS, I created the Tyler Support Center, which is used daily by TylerNet’s clients and Support Team.
Just recently, Smartwerks began offering an add-on text messaging product called SmartConnect. Because of the success of the other websites, I was asked to design and develop this one as well. It is in its infancy and content is being added daily.
